Holly by grace (ge) gilbert is coming out in October 2025 with YesYes Books.

A winning finalist for the YesYes Books 2023 Pamet River Prize and winner of the 2021 New Delta Review Experimental Nonfiction Prize, Holly is a hybrid image:text collection about the 1976 murder of the author’s paternal grandmother (and what came after). Holly reaches across genre, space, time, and memory not in an effort to recreate an unknowable figure, but to pull her absence through the cracks of a family.

New Delta Review contest judge Candice Wuehle says of an excerpt, “All of the entries I read for this revived my faith in the power of strangeness & experiment, but this particular piece moved in sideways/through the interstitial spaces/& stayed with me.” Holly has been a finalist or semi-finalist for the Noemi Poetry Book Award, the Essay Press chapbook prize, the Bennett Fellowship at Exeter, and the Miami Emerging Writer Fellowship in Nonfiction.

Holly is grace (ge) gilbert’s first full-length collection. You can read an early excerpt of the book here. Check back later for more information on how to buy the book or attend a reading.

grace (ge) gilbert has also written three print chapbooks, which you can find here, here, and here.
